I see SV was up to his tricks again.
This is happening far too often.

BrokenVert 08-29-2010 10:22 AM

Grrr just read a play by play of the race...so pissed that i couldn't find a race feed

Agreed. He has a real bad case of impatience. Perhaps he was worried that he wouldn't be able to make the pass before/after eau rouge and figured he had to make it happen where he tried. So does MW get FULL team support now? Not saying he's second class, but other than suffering from a case of "vettel-itis" at the start he seems to be more consistent.

Tire Selection a Driver Choice or Team Decision?

So when FA made the wrong decision to go for inters early in the race was that his blunder or team screw-up?

Also, Is it just me or does FA seem disinterested when he is a back marker? The Ferrari should have been one of the better cars today but he couldn't seem to make anything happen.

I don;t think its a matter of pointing fingers and saying who's bad decision.
No one knows when, where, and the intensity of the rain in Spa, its always a mystery to the F1 teams.

Since FA suffered a collision with Rubens Barrichello, and rain is possible in the next 5 minutes or so. Not sure about its intensity, thus Ferrari opted to changed to inters. However, the "predicted" rain came in late, plus the intensity wasn't as bad as "predicted". So they changed back to dry tires.

You can also see the hesitation changing to wet tires during the last 4 laps. McLaren engineers suggested they don't want to risk the bogey time in pit stops changing to inters. Unless they are absolutely have to change.

That's the weather of God playing in Spa! :D
Even if you know raining is coming as always, when, where, which part of track, and how intense the rain will be will always be a question!!!!!

Man, what a great race, Spa always delivers. What a nail bitter this one was, when LH went off, I nearly lost it, luckily he was able to save it. Very risky call by the top 3 to stay out when everyone else dived for the pits.

I agree w/ it not being Vettel's fault, there was a lil shower in that area of the track and he just lost it on the braking, just very unfortunate for Button. He was having a great race considering part of his front wing had gotten messed up.

Great race by Webber again though, lots of luck went his way but he kept his cool and was there to take advantage of it all. After bogging out the start, he could have easily lost all focus and made another mistake

Great race weekend, glad to have F1 back from the summer break

I agree, but with LV it wasn't just the Button incident.
His puncture was due to a sloppy/impetuous passing manover.

I think he can become a great driver, but he really needs to settle down.

vettel deserved the penalty IMO. Obviously it wasn't intentional but he shouldn't have been swerving so hard in those conditions, button was not making huge blocking moves either.

But IMO if your obvious screw up takes someone else out of the race yours should be over too.

To pluralize grand prix it's grands prix, not grand prixes.

Same here, although he was definitely sloppy on the second incident where he got a flat tire. At the end, no points for SV either.

Another unintentional accident was when RB rammed FA from the back, and nothing happened to the Ferrari; amazing. And supposedly the incident was going to be 'investigated' at the end; WTF? The guy was out of the race and nothing happened to FA. Great race, but not nearly as memorable as others.

ptack 08-29-2010 07:58 PM

Great race and it looked like MS learned his lesson with his 10 position penalty.

UltimateBMW 08-29-2010 08:27 PM

WAY TO GO HAMILTON!

Spectacular race!

Vettel :mad0260: I really hope Mclaren don't just let that incident rob them of those points. Button was absolutely going to end in a top 10. A Mclaren 1-2 would have only solidified Hamilton's Championship lead.

Sounds a bit odd to me, but so does Grand Prixes...

So whatever works. My first guess would be that prix is the same in singular and plural though.

Or at least take away your points. I'm just happy that Vettel dropped out of the points range. That at least lessens the blow McLaren took there.

Was it ever mentioned how Buttons front wing got damaged?

I wouldn't say learn his lesson, he and NR both manage to come back to 7th and 6th to get some points.

KingOfJericho 08-30-2010 07:25 AM

Hamilton drove an amazing race and I'm always happy to see Kubica on the podium. I think he'll be more and more of a factor as the season winds down.
