I find the latest 5s design ungainly and poorly proportioned. The rear droops as if they were copying a Mercedes and the front overhang looks too large. Most versions look like they are on stilts due to the lower dark color. I had hoped that BMW M would work on weight reductions to improve performance instead of grafting the XM powertrain onto an M5. Having driven the XM, I was disappointed in its performance. Fast for what it is, but it is still a whale. Nimble is a thing of the past. What a wasted opportunity!
No offense intended for those that like it. Having choices is always good (maybe BMW will wake up and give us some good color combinations that don't involve having to go the Individual route: good luck!). They may sell a lot of them, just none to me. Hopefully they don't languish at dealers after the initial rush like the XM.
