So I gave in and bought some Adams products
and I was not impressed. I bought some wheel cleaner and iron remover. The wheel cleaner was on par with any other product and nothing in my opinion to rave about.
The iron remover worked well but I have nothing to compare that to. Also hated the fact there was no mention the intake straws need to be trimmed to fit in the bottle prior to purchasing. |

I completely agree with you on the straws - it pisses me off because its next to impossible to get it the perfect length |

I love their In and Out Aerosol Spray, I use it all over the engine. Smells great. It's the only Adams product I use.

Try Coverall plastic dressing, cheaper and could potentially be better. Smells great too.

I think they're about as good as a ton of other companies. I have a lot of their stuff, and think it works well. So do other brands. Adam's is always on some sort of sale, sometimes a deep sale, and at that point it's a great deal and I buy a bunch.
Not sure why anyone would say it's disappointing. I think it's more that there are a lot of good brands that are all... good. Including Adam's. |

What exactly were you expecting? Most of these products, even when chemically different, are basically the same in function across brands with a slightly different scent.

Consider products vetted by curators like Obsessed Garage or Esoteric Detailing

If you want any product recommendations or have any detailing questions feel free to ask or shoot me a PM. Run a detail shop and a detail supply store and carry all the top brands and some industry secrets too. And if we don't carry it can get it for you rather easily.

I use the wheel cleaner and it works well. As for the intake straws, I don't cut them but instead just push into the bottle and let them bend a bit. They don't crimp... just bend and allow you to close the top. |

I spent years chasing the best products in each category and grew tired of the goalposts constantly shifting, when in reality, it didn't matter. Detailing is 90% process, 10% product. I'm a big Adam's fan, simply from a quality and convenience standpoint. Are there better products for each category? Sure, but I have to source multiple different brands with marginal improvement. I can get stellar results from Walmart products, so this is one of those things you shouldn't overthink too much. Use what you like from a reputable brand like Adam's, CarPro, Chemical Guys, Meguiar's, GTechniq, Optimum, etc.

Adam's Graphene Quick Detailer is a great product and the only one I use, but otherwise I've found there are better out there generally.

Sonax is a great cleaner. I have been using it for years. I just recently tried Griots simply for the cost. It works just as well, cost less and has a much better smell. Sonax has a very heavy chemical odor.
