I am not sure that they listen to the "customer preferences" as they claim.
This is the breakdown I was thinking about and you articulated clearly.

It's worth noting that 2023 was the first year that over 10,000 published, peer reviewed papers had to be retracted. Prior years weren't far behind, but 2023 was the first time 10k was broken.

"The number of retractions issued for research articles in 2023 has passed 10,000 — smashing annual records — as publishers struggle to clean up a slew of sham papers and peer-review fraud."

I have noticed, nearly 100% of the time, those who love and are deeply entrenched/invested EV’s express disdain and anger towards those who aren’t. There is no disagreement with diplomacy. It’s quite telling actually.

No, I don't like the design is repugnant to me. But if you like it, good for you.
Case closed.
You can't educate me, because you are completely clueless and conspiratorial on the issue.

I may like some designs, but I wouldn't say 'designers should be fired, BMW is done, blah blah'. Because I don't have narcissistic personality disorder. I don't think my taste is the absolute truth.

Going to strongly disagree with this. The mass majority of people who buy cars have "engineering" at the bottom of their list on things to consider when buying a car. Other than knowing that BMW's are well built - that's as far as they'll go when it comes to engineering. All people care about is price and then exterior and interior color and the look. Oh yeah, can’t forget about Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

While most of on here can drool and talk about how the B58 and S58 are all-time engines, the rest of world could care less and would rather drive BMW’s with a B48 (that’s not throwing shade at the B48, but in this context, the B58 is pinnacle BMW engineering).

A lot of misconceptions here about how design works, the timelines, who's responsible for what..etc, my only surprise is that they are going for a much decentralized approach, if anything AVH is more in charge than ever with BMW boss position no longer really existing. This reminds me of the old mega GM Ford structures, i only hope it will work better.

Enlighten the forum. Clear up the misconceptions.

I would have replaced van Hooydonk with Karim Habib

He approved all the current design mess

I think there’s a lot more people who love the new designs (like me) but they won’t be posting here, because what’s the point? It’s just an invitation to get yelled at by all the goofballs who think they know best.

And…

I wish people would save their professional dissertations for -after- they actually live with a design and/or strategy. For fans, y’all sure do chug the haterade.

Don’t get me started on the “it’s kinda growing on me” crowd.

Cut ties & move-on already.
