F90 to GO5 Calibers

Hi guys.

My husband drives a 2020 x5 m40i. He is always talking about how much he misses his brakes on his 2020 m4 comp. I was thinking as a gift for his birthday, to buy him those m5 calipers, (for the front only because I don’t think he needs it for the back and I can really only afford the front &#128517 caliper brackets, and new brake pads too.

My question is, does anyone know any good after market brands for m5 brake pads? Not too noisy. And least amount of brake dust. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Usually cars have a front to rear brake bias since the fronts do more work. If you alter just one end, you affect the brake balance, which can be unsafe. If there is a factory big brake kit for the GO5, buy the complete kit.

That's rubbish what you're saying about brake bias at this level of use. The only thing to question is if the brake pressure will suffice but likely it will.

X5m and f90 has 6 pot calipers and single piston rear, just like most of the bmw lineup. I track my car and changed the calipers to 4 piston in the rear w aggressive pads despite just 4 piston in the front. Brake bias to the rear had zero effect and that's at the extreme limit of testing it.

To the op question ( great thoughtful gift btw!!), many seem to like the isweep pads for almost dust free operation. Carbotech 1521, even stoptech z23

First, you have to make sure they’ll bolt up and that needs to be verified before you order anything

They have to be able to fit inside the wheel as well

So you have some homework to do

There's a company Tro-nik that makes the adapter brackets. The wheel fitment concern is valid though- worth to double check.
