Any people experience this issue? The car has been driven over 1000km, and never engage coasting mode in ECO pro or comfort mode. ASS functionally without problem. No warning about battery.
I live in Vancouver, temperature should not be a issue.

My 230i xDrive had a coasting feature. I managed to trigger coasting a time or two. I believe I used the shift paddle method.

There were not that many places that coasting was worth the trouble.

One exception was a long (~1/4 mile?) long downhill freeway off ramp. Think I found another good downhill section further north on the freeway. But that freeway was not part of my normal driving.

On other roads surface streets with traffic it just wasn't practical to coast.

Below I'll post some info from my 230i xDrive's owners manual. Your car's owners manual should have something similar and that is what you need to look at and see if you can see something that might provide you with a clue as to why coasting is not working for you. Not necessarily saying you are doing anything wrong. Could be the car's navigation info is out of date.

Here's some coasting info from my car's owners manual:

Operating requirements

▷ Selector lever position D is engaged.
▷ Brake is not depressed.
▷ Accelerator pedal is not operated.
▷ System detects a calm and smooth driving style.
▷ Engine and transmission are at operating temperature.
▷ The system does not detect any obstructive traffic situations or routes.

Operation via shift paddles

Principle

Depending on the equipment, the coasting drive state can be controlled via the shift paddles.

Activating/deactivating coasting via shift paddles

Operate the right-hand shift paddle for longer to activate.

Operate the left-hand shift paddle to deactivate.

The function is available in the speed range from approx. 25 km/h, 16 mph to 160 km/h, 100 mph.

System limits

▷ In the case of navigation data that is invalid, outdated or not available.

▷ If there are country-dependent restrictions on map-based route sections.

▷ With a temporary and variable speed limit, such as at road works.

▷ If Cruise Control is active.

▷ If the sensors are faulty, soiled or covered.

▷ Driving in the handling limit range or on steep uphill or downhill gradients.

▷ Battery charge state temporally too low or too high power requirement in the electrical system.

▷ Trailer operation.

If you are living right in the city, good luck with all the start and stop traffic 20 hrs in a day and 7 days in a week. If you really want to see the coasting mode engage while you are driving. Pick a weekday and drive to whistler, on the way back, you will able to see how the coasting mode work.
