2025 M5 G90 prototype drops some camouflage

The G90 M5 prototype has dropped some camouflage! Here is the latest G90 specs we know - from the Future BMW Model Information thread:

G90/G99 M5

Will use S68 in hybrid setup (same as XM) tuned to 718hp. The gas engine contributes up to 577hp and 750Nm, the electric motor goes up to 194hp and 280Nm. The battery has 18.6kWh usable.
Compared to G60, G90 will be 36mm longer and 70mm wider, with a slightly longer wheelbase due to a different suspension geometry. The curb weight is 2435kg. Standard tires: 285/40/20 front, 295/35/21 rear.

03/27: Interface switch to Panoramic Vision. Passenger screen becomes available as an option.

Man those wheel arch’s are super undefined and underwhelming for an M car 😕

Interesting that the wheel base length has changed. Pretty unconventional for an M car to receive such a drastic change in the base chassis instead of conventional reinforcing for increased rigidity.

I dunno. I mean overall the car is not ugly and not a bad looking car. I do like the interior on the new 5 series as well. I’m sure it will grow on most of us eventually. I just don’t know about the massive weight hike.

They should have made the last pure ICE M5 or just not do it at all. Benz failed with it's E-PERFORMANCE models and BMW should have learn for it. It's better to have an pure EV over this whale.

I find the latest 5s design ungainly and poorly proportioned. The rear droops as if they were copying a Mercedes and the front overhang looks too large. Most versions look like they are on stilts due to the lower dark color. I had hoped that BMW M would work on weight reductions to improve performance instead of grafting the XM powertrain onto an M5. Having driven the XM, I was disappointed in its performance. Fast for what it is, but it is still a whale. Nimble is a thing of the past. What a wasted opportunity!

No offense intended for those that like it. Having choices is always good (maybe BMW will wake up and give us some good color combinations that don't involve having to go the Individual route: good luck!). They may sell a lot of them, just none to me. Hopefully they don't languish at dealers after the initial rush like the XM.

Literally this same comment every time a new design is unveiled. Realistically the previous gen cars will continue to depreciate. They will NOT gain any value.

I dont think you sense my sarcasm....I hated the pig nose on the G80 when it was unveiled. Now I have one in my garage

Like any new design it will take time.

Waiting for the wagon announcement. So far im liking that more than the sedan. Not sure which M5 model im ordering yet

Looks OK, but damn is it heavy. Weighs more than an X5, RS6, etc. Guess a lot of the weight is down low in the chassis, but wow!

Even a model S plaid is only 4766 lbs and that’s full electric

Guess the last real M5 and the one that will probably be the last “classic” is the F90 M5 CS
