RedStar Exhaust Catless/Catted Downpipes for G90 M5

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
RedStar Exhaust just released Catless/Catted Downpipes for the new G90/G99 M5.

https://redstarexhaustusa.com/bmw-g9..._02_spacers-no

I used their 200 cell catted downpipes on my Audi RS6 for about eight months without flash tune and had no check engine light.

I'm hoping for the same results for the M5.

any update on this, a full set looks to go for 2400 and change but I want to make sure there is no CEL if going catless with their 02 sensor solution.

Just placed my order, I did the heat shield option after reading the FAQ. It may be a while before I can get these installed since the weather in MD is sux right now.

If you have never had a catless cat, I’d recommend against it. It might be a little better as an EV, but on catless cats in the past I noticed two big downsides:

When sitting in traffic with windows down you can get a pretty noxious odor

When driving in a garage or covered area it can get pretty noxious too.

While a little more expensive, some high flow cats seems way worth it compared to full catless. There just isn’t much performance and sound difference between high-flow and catless, might as well spend a little extra for high-flow. There are some high-flow cats that can avoid a CEL too.

I had full downpipes on my F10, and secondary only on my f90. Your will more gains with DP than any other exhaust modification. You will spend about 4k alone for high flow cats. Yes there is a smell sometimes, roll the windows up.

Just received order confirmation for shipping, I ordered the shielded insulated catless version, Owner sent me this pic. THANKS man! After my breakin this and a tune should do it some justice. Depending on the sound level desired I may go Xpipe when a decent one is released.

My Redstar order was delivered today. Mine are identical to the pic above, all 4 pipes full passthrough and insulated. Install this week. Already have JB4 installed. I'll post Dyno results.

I will. No CEL. Attached is a pic of my order before it shipped. Be aware, when Redstar ships, you will see DHL text notifications regarding a package coming from Russia. It's not spam lol.

G90 base wheel results on a mustang AWD dyno were 652 hp and 654 tq. JB4 bumped it up to 749 hp and 751 tq.

I want to be able to run full MS109 or an E85 blend without having to worry about 200 or 400 CEL damage. That's why I went full catless.

Dropping the car off in the morning. It will be there a few days, install then playing with custom, MS109 and E85 fuel blend maps within JB4.

I'll post results next week.

sweet my Redstar package came in yesterday; I have to get the car passed break in service and then can start planning after. I haven't decided on a tuning option yet, but I have used the JB4 in prior cars.

Did you install it yourself? how was it? anything annoying like having to fish through the firewall? let me know your thoughts if you did yourself.

I was just curious how much they charge to remove the stock down pipes and put these on. I’m getting a crazy quote of 4100 to do mine.

They said something about having to drop the entire front suspension in order to get to it. I’m just wondering if this is truly the case or not.

My Mechanic already did one and told me it’s about 5 hrs. And if I wanted to do some new springs about another 5 hours.
