Seriously Spool... this is one of the funniest thread titles I have ever seen. It makes me smile and laugh every time I look in the OT... Thank you.
I was seeing a girl for a few weeks that didn't like going to bars or clubs and only wanted to do outdoors shit. I really tried... she was sweet, beautiful and adorable... but I am a city boy. |

wake up at designated time
have morning sex that will make you late for the hike, be all like "oh, we won't be able to finish on time and we're already 1hr late" sleep in... that's what I used to do when I wanted to avoid plans

that girl was a good catch man....i rather hike and do gay nature shit than spend money at the club...thinking back over the years, i must've wasted at least a grand a month going out drinking and partying...

This was today...
started out like this, just casual hiking...relaxing Then 2 miles later, still going strong...got plenty of power left This is when it gets hard, trail was covered by leaves at some point...so we had to climb up hills and find our way...calves and thighs were burning at this point... This is about halfway through the hike...dead tired, whole body started cramping...legs were on fire, i had to carry 20 lbs worth of food and water... This is the end of the hike, i had nothing left...but at least i finished...i don't know how this girl have so much energy, she looked like she could run a marathon after the hike..

Ohhh spool. I can't tell you how much entertainment this thread gives me...
Did she ever offer to carry the backpack during this 17 mile adventure through the woods? Especially when you started looking like you were ready to call it a day..

She offered to carry the bag but I didn't let her...the bag is heavy, 2 32oz Gatorade bottle and snacks and food adds up...plus it gets cold so our jackets are inside also. I slept so well last, I might get into this.

Thru-hiked a few sections of the AT in NH, ME and VA.
Trust me the Shenandoah National Park hikes are much easier than anything up in New England. Try a few 2-3 day overnight trips, after you do a few, you won't be as sore at the end of the day. Biked 48 miles of Skyline Drive with the girlfriend earlier this fall, haven't done much on the north end of Skyline Drive since we live in Norfolk, VA so the drive home is easier. Campgrounds are nice in the park, 15$ if you have a park pass, showers at some of them if your not ready for tenting or staying in a lean-too on the trail at night.

I bet she starts taking you on snowshoe hikes this winter, much softer on your feet, no one else in the park and you don't end up getting soaked in sweat on the climbs...
