the 3-door and 5-door versions are fine in terms of appearance.

the 2-door just looks ugly.

I can name one reason to get the 335 rather than the 135. How about the fact that the 335 will get a de-tuned version of the e92 M3 V-8? Well ok that's just a pipe dream.

Personally I think the 335i coupe is the sexiest car today, followed closely by the sedan. It's all about preferences.

According to what I have read there will never be an M1. The closest thing we will see will be a Msport version of the 135i.

but really, in more recent BMW history

there wasn't supposed to be an M coupe or M roadster this time around either, BMW denied it for years

BMW said there wasn't going to be an M version through the first few years of production and then they came out with one for the 4th year of the run.

what we read, and what will happen can be very different things

I dont agree with you here especially since the Mcoupe was basically released at the same time as the Z4 coupe.

I wonder if they deliberately made the 1 series heavy? Any takers on that theory?

looks like they did make the suspension steel instead of aluminum on the 3

they're not stupid, they won't let the 1 make the 3 look that bad

I wouldn't be surprised to see the 1 have much smaller rear tires too, preventing the 300 hp from getting to the ground effectively

to me, i think the 1 series look unproportional...it's a weird looking car...

i'm sure it'll be fast as hell and a beast around the track with upgraded suspension....i just can't get past the looks...
the 135i pic isn't working anymore, i assume you posted your 335i (with rims drop and other shit) vs. a stock 135i though. that's a little unfair of a looks comparison don't u think?

anyway, the 135i shares a lot of cosmetic similarities between the 335i (namely the front and rear), i don't see how the 335i is *that* much of a better looking car than the 135i. to me, the e30/e46 looks better than both, but i still like the styling of both the 135i and the 335i. i will agree that the 335i looks better htan the 135i, but the market for the 135i won't really give a shit about looks IMO.

looks are subjective, ppl are still going to buy the 3 series, its BMW's bread and butter. the performance enthusiast is obviously gonna go with the 1 series because of its lighter weight and most likely better performance. while the mainstream will continue to buy the 3 series because that's who most of the buyers are. remember, this site is an enthusiast site, and only a fraction of all 335i owners out there. most people don't know shit about twin turbochargers even if they own the 335i. its all about the badge for them.

yeah i posted a pic of my car with rims, drop, and lights...it still works, scroll up more...

shit calm down, if you like the 1 series, go get it...it's cheaper and offer more performance...(so does an STi or EVO)

but you don't see me getting those...

bottom line, 1 series look like ass, it's probably fast and cheap, but looks like crap...

And many people would say the 335i looks like crap.

I know I prefer the way my M3 looks over an E92.

Doesn't mean the 335i is any less of a car. But it still isn't an M car.

I think the A3 will give the 1-series a run for the money...

I actually like the exterior of the A3 better, but I may change my mind once I get inside the car and drive it...

I think the basic trend in this thread is that the 135i is superior to the 335i... unless of course you already own a 335i.. in which case the 135i is a piece of shit.

as a general rule the best car in the world is whatever each particular poster owns

anything else is moronic

for some reason, if anyone suggests the 335 isn't the pinnacle of engineering they're in for an argument!

The 135i, piece of shit that it is, only comes as an M-Sport, has brake energy regeneration, apparently has a LSD, weighs 3232 lbs, and can get 30.7 MPG.
