the 4.2-liter V8 engine will reportedly be upgraded to produce 450 PS (331 kW / 444 hp). Likewise, the 5.2-liter V10 is expected to be bumped up to 540 PS (397 kW / 533 hp). Rumors have also suggested the R-tronic transmission could be replaced by a seven-speed S-tronic gearbox.

I think the front end looks more subtle than the current model. It seems the large intakes are gone and will be replaced with the E-tron concept intakes. Can't wait to see official pics.

I'm guessing we won't see the debut until September.

A clean-sheet design is due in a couple years. Aluminum and carbon fiber monocoque, dual clutch transmission, losing considerable weight, etc.

Nah. Audi came out last month and said that they intend to keep the engines in the facelifted R8 naturally aspirated to fit the car's temperamental nature.

Does that mean we'll also see a Gallardo successor as well?

From that screenshot, it looks like the front end will look more like the rest of the Audi line up, fat and chubby, more rounded, instead of the sleek look it has now. I really hope they didn't jack up the LED design under the headlights. I thought the R8 had the best looking design out of the Audi cars.

Changes arent as big as I thought they might be:

-Full LED headlights? units are very similar in shape to current model
-New grille and front intakes have new plastic grilles.
- Rear lights, rear intakes and exhausts.

I don't know how I feel about it. I think they are very modest changes and only slightly improve the look of the car. Plus I've never thought the R8 looks good in pics really but on the road looks much better.
