+1 for audio technica. they are almost on par with my bose noise cancelling.

great in-ear headphone.

beats are the worst. idk why people like them, unless you are a little kid.

I bought Ultrasone DJ1 Pro. They turned out to be THE most uncomfortable headphones I have ever seen. Holy shit.... They felt like 2 bricks connected by coat hanger and held together by barb wire.

My vote goes for Sony MDR-7506. Inexpensive, super lightweight and comfortable. Professional grade cans. Plus ear pads are replaceable for only $7. I dont use them to play gigs because they don't have enough bass for a club, but at a studio/home/work you can wear them all day long and not even feel them.

For DJ gigs I use A&H XONE:XD-2 53

http://www.headphone.com/ here you go. a good resource for all things cans.

The DT-770 Pros are a hassle but makes up with the durability and amazing quality. The cord is nice and long which is a pro and a con.

If you want a good desktop amp specifically for Headphone use, you should look into the Objective2 project. It's pretty amazing but not quite as portable.

I used to use Etymotic ER4p, great sound super clarity, lack bass.

Switched to Monster Copper now, amazing sound, so well balanced, IMO the best I've tired bar none! ( And I've tried them all: Westone, UE, ETY, Sony...)

But I think they're a little out of what your wanting to spend, Although I think on amazon the MONSTER GOLD seem to fit your budget and the are slightly more bass heavy than the coppers. I think those would be a good choice.

On the cheaper side I definately think the Klipsch S4 are pretty decent.

don't forget Beats are a JOKE.

I'm thinking about the Polk audio ultrafit 3000. There aren't many reviews but the few that are, are really positive.

Really, I have never had the Dj1's but the pro 900's are firm but not uncomfortable, they're not like the beats pro's that are soft and squishy and make your ears sweat (ick) but they're not hard. I wear headphones probably 7 hours a day.

A lot has to do with the shape and size of your head too.

Everyone keeps recommending headphones with the strap over your head... Im sure the sound quality is better than in-ear type headphones I just can't see myself working out with some earmuffs on my head.

I use Klipsch S4 ear buds. Not very expensive and quite comfortable with above average performance.

I've compared them to the KE29s and they are surprisingly about the same.

I love my Altec Lansing bliss headphones. great sound quality, i never go to the gym without them. theyre only 80bucks at bestbuy. the packaging is kind of cheap i guess but i suppose your 80 bucks were actually put into the headphones and not fancy packaging so dont let the plastic flimsy package discourage you. i really recommend these headphones.
