How High do I mount a Plasma???
The Facts:
-It is a 60 inch plasma -I am mounting it into brick -I'd normally be sitting about 14 feet from the Screen -The seat on my sofa is 16 inches high So...How high off the floor should the Plasma be mounted? I currently have a 57 inch projection that starts just 24 inches off the floor. I am buying a new piece of furniture for my components. That unit will be 24 or 36 inches high and I would mount the screen at either 26 or 38 inches depending on which piece I buy. Is 38 inches too high to mount? What do you recommend? Thanks in advance... |

While seated, your eyes should be between the middle and top 75% of the set. For ergonomics, computer monitors should be viewed with the eyes even with the top of the screen, but being seated and slightly reclined the set doesn't have to be so low to the floor to find a comfortable viewing position.

hey, let see some photos of that nice flatscreen on the wall. It might give me idea when I buy my TV. So how high did you decide to mount the flatscreen?

congrats, cant really go wrong with pioneer (unless you have another session of toss the telephone). I believed that Pioneer are the top rated plasma TV but are very pricey for my pocket. Cant wait to see how it turns out for ya and how high you have it mounted...

Think about what you need to put into the rack/stand/cabinet.
What componenets do you have to put into it? What componenets will you buy in the next 6 years that need to fit too? I'd buy the taller 36" cabinet, if it allows more room for toys and storage. Also, don't let the installer use the double-sided 3M tape or Betalink adhesive to hang the TV on the brick; it may leave marks. |
