Sponsor? For what exactly? Free parts? A discount?
As Nikki said you either win races or shows or you know people. Discounts are a bit easier since if you put a banner or some sort of sticker of a place they will give you something off. Otherwise forget getting sponsored. Not to mention we drive BMW's not Civic's so having a bunch of stickers wether you got stuff for free or not is stupid.

You have to treat a sponsorship like a job. You'll want to create a portfolio of your car. Good pictures, a list of shows you plan to attend and your performance at past shows as well. You should have a cover letter explaining your history in the automotive scene and your dedication to the sport. You should exhibit good verbal skills and personality.
If you make it. You will need to sign a contract agreeing to the shows you plan on attending in one season. Typically a sponsor will allow you to "no show" at one event, but it's not advised that you do that. It's alot of hard work and not as easy as most make it seem.

The best way is to look at it from the company's perspective. We're not going to sponsor you unless the money we spend (or the profits we give up in discounting your parts) is going to be offset significantly by the amount of advertising you can offer us. This doesn't mean "hey, I'm going to 15 shows this season" - because we already have plenty of customers running our stickers at shows... free. This is more like "I am going to be in Eurotuner in April" or "My car is in Michelin's booth at SEMA"... or, the best way... be in OUR booth for Bimmerfest.
This of course means that your car must be very modified BEFORE anyone will want to sponsor you... Probably upwards of $10K-$15K. In some rare instances, we have offered sponsorships where an individual must commit to spending over $10K with us and we will build out their car at our cost... but usually, we won't take on a stock car - we'd rather purchase/lease the car ourselves and tune it out for the publicity. Hope this helps! JL |

In the case of Michael, we are working on both his E92 and his family's M6 because both of them provide publicity on and off the forums, and because Michael is showing his car with the most reputable show team, EuroProjektz. We are much more likely to sponsor cars in Europrojektz, as they've already passed a stringent checklist
