Wheeler Dealers has jumped the shark.

I used to love the show, but it's barely watchable since it moved to LA. Skipping some of the great repair details and the constant and distracting back round rock music.

I still like it but I always thought they don't make enough money when they sell the cars.

I agree, It used to be one of my favorite shows but it's become a formula, scripted like a lot of shows.

I watch Graveyard carz. I'm impressed by their knowledge of MOPAR cars, they restore the cars to OE specs down to the nuts and bolts, paint over spray under the carpet etc.

I agree. The new show is not as good as the original version in Great Britain and is definitely geared more towards the 'Murican' viewer.

I'm now waiting for Edd to get a bunch of tattoos and grow a huge beard.

This. Most of the time it doesn't even seem worth the trouble for what little they make. However I think they may do it on purpose as to not make it look like the show is taking advantage of people or something.

It also goes to show you that if you don't do the work yourself on most of these cars they end up in the junk yard or the never ending money pit. Plus you cant just get stuff fixed locally around the corner like they do at home.

I like the show, but they make like $700 and never factor in Edd's time. It's not even worth it when you consider how many hours he spends.

He's also a good mechanic, but they do terrible work on the cosmetic things, particularly in older shows.

They even know instances in a model year when Chrysler used different bolts and washers types etc.

Faithfully duplicate it, so much passion.

Graveyard Carz you have got to be kidding me. They can buy every part new. The only challenge is to find decent donors for their ground-up recreations.

Wheeler Dealer got a bit carried away in the US, and let's face it they've never come completely clean on how much they actually spend. I remember early episodes where suddenly the car had new tires and brakes, yet those items never appeared on the cost sheet. (I assume they had to do stuff like that to ensure they were selling safe cars.) But the personalities are still dynamite and the show is still good, witness episodes like the Messerschmitt.

Even tho i enjoyed Wheeler dealers (UK), it was a business.
GYC is about true passion for a brand and as a long time BMW loyal fan, i like that. Not just a business.

GYC will turn down work they dont believe in.

Yes, they only do MOPAR. They only build the cars they love.
I hope you like it.

I watched the episode on the 88' mustang 5.0. They glossed over big parts of the repairs. Plus, not sure how they did wheels, tires, suspension and a respray for $2500???

It's over produced and the bloopers at the end are forced and unnecessary.

I like the show but don't like how random parts show up on some cars without the cost being included and then the talk about Profit but never show the labor charge for Ed. Somehow he has a garage, works full time on these cars and then they split some small amount of money they make when they sell them.
