If you park in a parking garage, look up.

Just putting this out there as I never thought to do this until a recent incident. I was pulling out of a garage space when I heard a crunch. I stopped my car and got to take a look. The crunch was my car rolling over a chunk of concrete. I then looked up and saw that the concrete chunk had fallen from the ceiling. In fact, there were a few more areas where there was chunks of concrete falling from the ceiling.

So next time you park in a garage check out the ceiling too.

Looking down in this case would have produced better results.

In the case of this garage, the lighting combined with the color of the concrete floor obscured the chunks of concrete to be obviously visible. If I had looked up after parking, I would have easily seen that spot wasn't a good place to park and moved.
