$15k to buy car for project

i have 15k stored away to buy a car to modify. want good performance possible, not jsut showy. any advice???? (looking to go euro or japan)

E36 M3 or any E36 for that matter can be made into an impressive vehicle. Z3 coupe would be sweet also. E30 with an engine swap would be REALLY fun and good way to learn stuff. You can pick up a good one for a few grand too.

You can turn a non-M E36 into a decent club racer with that kind of money.

E30 is a good choice too, but those who mod E30s ultimately turn them into E36s under the skin.

There's a local 318ti for sale, with full M3 engine (sharked S50), drivetrain and suspension. Great fun to drive, and only $12.5k. I'd buy it if I had the money.

id say get a e30 325i and stroke it to 330i, and i still think youll have money left over.

how about an early C5 vette or on older turbo'd S4 audi

hell even a nice E36 M3 can be had for about 10 grand

if you want the best bang for your buck pretty much fastest it can go get a eg 6th gen civic drop a k20 strip it all out mod the engine and you should be keeping up with ferraris in a straight line, than again your dash might blow off and your steering weel snap, after all it is a civic
