When will XPEL patterns be available for the G20?

Any idea? I want to get PPF as soon as possible after delivery.

My guys here do them by hand on new cars that do not have a pattern available.

Most shops don't use templates for installing paint protection film. Don't think you have anything to worry about.

It is not so much a template, as it is what my Xpel installer has...patterns are downloaded into a laser cutter which then produces the proper shape/size with excellent cut lines. OP, just call a few Xpel dealers and ask when they expect the file to be downloaded to their equipment.

These clear wraps are pattern cut? I always thought it was just a sheet and cut/hidden very well.

Yes, most installers do the same. They download the template and the machine cuts it per template but not all templates are equally designed; some don't even have folded edges, corners, etc. Templates are primarily used to help save installation time for the installer.

Any good/experienced installer doesn't need the template; they can lay a blank sheet on any panel and cut where needed for a perfect fit and finish around edges and corners.

You need a certified installer I have seen amateurs install it and using a utility knife to cut the sheet and scratching the paint in the process.

The pros use a knife on the paint as well as far as I've seen. At least that's what the XPEL guy was doing at the Porsche dealership.

I guess if you are pro enough you can handle a knife?

Any recommended PPF installers in northern NJ? My M340i will be my daily driver looking to provide a little protection.

Call Nick at ABuffAndBeyond, his attention to detail is amazing and will be doing our G20. Hard to find good people like him as we will drive from upstate NY.
