Next time he walks into a crowded room, ask him if he ate a pile of dog shit for breakfast.

Ask them if they have "Exactlies Disease". If they ask what that is, tell them "your breath smells exactly like your ass"

Seriously though...I would just be straight up...i've been in the past. I think people appreciate the honesty.

this is what you do:
go stand beside him and say: "dude, did you fart or is it your bad breathe?"

hmm this is a tough one indeed. I had a similar problem where my boss's boss had really bad b.o. I didnt say anything about it mostly because he was higher up than me and it was only a problem when I had to sit really close to him. I would say that if it is causing everyone discomfort and hurting business, you should tell him. Just find a time when you are alone and say "hey, I dont mean to offend you but your breath smells sour sometimes. I thought I would mention it because I would want someone to let me know if my breath was smelling bad. Just because, you know, it could affect how comfortable people are around me. If you want, I can suggest some mints that I use when I have that kind of problem." This makes it sound like you are being more of a friend than a jerk about it. good luck!
