I didn't really like the current one (my dad's had 3 of them), but this doesn't look any better, IMO.

No way. Not gonna be that bad, despite the fact that they share relatively similar design cues to the camo'd 7's we've been seeing.

whats happening to car design lately. Is everyone going on Happy Hour early and pay being cut, or what?

Audi's Q5 = wtf?
BMW's X3 = wtf?
Merc's new C, C coupe, SLK, GL, SL, GLK = wtf?

Terrible change to a once great car. And those side markers dominate the profile and make it an eye sore.

ew, ew, ew, ew, ew....

It looks like this guy bought his photoshop last week or something. the image is so distorted.... the only aspects that are anywhere near what the car will look like are the grills (even tho they are awkwardly flat in this chop and don't match the rest of the front--they will be better implemented in the actual car) and probably the character crease above the doors.

THE LIGHTS?? i'm not even going there.

i agree...

i think the issue with the Q5 and the X3 especially is that the manufacturers purposely make the car less good looking so that sales remain strong for their bigger brothers which bring in more profit anyway. consider that when the X3 came out we didn't have the E70, we had the E53 which had essentially the same space as the X3. the main incentive for people to go with the X5 over the X3 was design. this is just pure speculation and my opinion tho.

As for benz? when you know your going to sell buttloads of cars that are all based on each others platforms and bring in major profits, why spend extra money refining the look? MB knows whatever they make will sell like hot cakes. (besides the R-Class, that was just plain stupid)

The interior is actually 100% correct, just preproduction materials used.

The green car is 95% correct, and was touched up prior to leaking so all design cues would not be released (this is from the Australia shoot). The reverse image is a photoshop someone tried to touch up the green.

The silver has many of the correct items and is 97% correct.... the lower "mouth" is missing the fogs and has been hard edged.

The details are still blurred.... BMW is leaking stuff to build anticipation. All of the manufacturers are doing this now.

We are 3 months out expect more in the next few weeks and then a dead time. Then stuff will resurface right before the official release.

As for the 4 wheel steering info, some suppliers are pushing this but I still have a hard time buying into it.

The most important thing to look at in the interior http://bimmerfile.com/wp-content/upl...08/04/7int.jpg
is the iDrive controller and the arrows on top.... this is something I learned about a few weeks back and was obviously confirmed by this photo. Once again the interior is indeed real... just not the exact production materials!

Oh man, another chop, and another silly feature - look at that face, it looks like a stunned Cat who peed himself.
