The back patio is iffy. Most likely you cannot enclose it without proper permits and filings. Even companies offering the service to you, usually just do it, without any sort of approval process. Again NYC, your local jurisdiction may be different. Even closing the patio, you can get away with it until the neighbors complain. But mini-split won't affect this status either way. |

In my rural township there was no mention of additional fees for having a mini-split in the garage. Or much else beyond inspections and taxes. Safe construction and square footage is all they cared about.
I love the mini-split BTW. |
