Care & Cleaning of M340 Steering Wheel

Hi,

My M340 has a "spongy" material on its steering wheel, like the M cars. In a previous thread, I was advised that it was leather, probably Napa.

My question is how do clean and care for it? If I use Lexol cleaner & conditioner, will that work?

Thanks

This, for all leather (including leather dash if you have it) - awesome conditioner, leaves matte finish, and keeps the leather from getting worn/shiny

Fiebings saddle soap. It’s a great mild cleanser for all things leather. I use it on all my good shoes before a polish. It works great on the bmw steering wheel. Damp microfiber cloth, just a little of the soap.. which is more like a wax, gently rub it into the wheel and get a slight lather. With a clean damp cloth wipe it down. I also coat my wheel with Gyeon Leather Shield... and all the leather in the car since the kids tend to spill and it gives me some piece of mind. A detailer will charge $300-800 to ceramic coat your leather and it’s about a 30 min job if you do it yourself when the car is new...about 90 mins plus dry time if you need to clean all your leather first at a cost of about $60.

I've always used Nextzett Cockpit Premium even on leather steering wheels. Leaves them with zero residue and never had peeling issues whatsoever.
