Update: Mugello Confirmed, Portimao/Nurburgring/Imola still set to join F1 calendar

Update: Mugello and Sochi have been confirmed for the 2020 calendar. Very excited about Mugello being added, "meh" about Sochi considering how processional it usually is.

https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...0j0OIxdct.html

Still to be confirmed, but I've seen multiple sources report that Mugello and Portimao are set to be confirmed for the 2020 F1 calendar later this week. I do hope it's true, as this would be one of the coolest things to come out as a result of the pandemic.

https://www.racefans.net/2020/06/29/...arve-f1-races/

https://www.grandprix247.com/2020/06...med-this-week/

EDIT: Looks like the Nurburgring, and Imola are set to join the calendar as well!

Tuscany and Algarve look perfect places to add some extra GP's.

Of course my friend . The more the better for us . As we know the new 20' season is already halfway .
Nonetheless I'm still very concerned regarding the damn virus .
Because "if" someone in the F1 get the virus I'm pretty sure the new season is completely over .
The whole F1 organisation and teams have to travel a lot ...with an increasing risk !
Meanwhile ,all we can do is staying positive minded

I did read somewhere if that's the case then the actual team where the affected member was would be locked down.

I really hope this happens! Always great to see new circuits .... maybe one of them can replace eternally boring Sochi.

I'd be more than happy to see Sochi replaced by something else. Unfortunately Sochi is a vanity race for all intents and purposes, so I doubt its going away anytime soon.

You would be correct. Ross Brawn said the race would go on if someone tests positive for the virus. I wanted to provide a link to his comments from the F1 website but havent been able to find the article.

The FIA has actually published an extensive document on procedures that all staff at F1 events will need to follow to minimize the possibility of catching and transmitting the virus. It's actually quite extensive. No guarantee that anyone will catch the virus, but they have done quite a bit of research on how to best ensure everyone's safety. Hopefully it all worked out for everyone in the end!

For sure the measures in place to prevent infection to team members now,to when it was first discovered..was it in McLaren team?..will be far more effective now. A far better understanding of the outbreak and it's causes will help those present at the Osterreichring.

The rise on that track after the pits at Austin,Texas is unbelievable.A real test for the transmissions going up there at full throttle!

Quite true! I did a 5K run back in 2012 on the track and one reallllllly gets the feel for the elevation changes throughout the track.....lots of fun!

The above pic is from a fund-raiser back in April. Also fun but sadly limited to 20 mph. Hopefully we’ll be racing in Austin again later this year (but I have my doubts).

Yeah, I'm not sure what to expect but I'm still looking forward to it. A new track is always an exciting prospect, especially a purpose built track (unlike street circuits).
