Ugh.........seriously?! I had originally ordered a 2020 but the order came in so late that they switched it over to a 2021 MY. I hate auto start/stop.

Anyone having a problem with fewer vehicle options and configurations should look disapprovingly at everyone who cries about "too many models." It's like they think only vehicles they didn't care for are on the chopping block.

BMW 2021 updates are indicative of the broader difficulties in the automotive world. I see two obvious cost cutting themes:
- Reduction of time spent on the assembly line by packaging more logically related options and making them standard; also makes parts planning process simpler and supplier order management more predictable - Removal of smaller cosmetic options such as contrast stitching For all it's worth, this is the most logical first response to the increasing pressure to reduce costs. More cost cutting measures are undoubtedly on the horizon for BMW and other manufacturers. |

So, "front messaging seats"?
With a Russian name at the top of the document, does that mean Putin will now hear everything our butts say? |

I'm not aware of any unique "increasing pressure to reduce costs." Tell me more. Who is applying this pressure? How and why is price sensitivity increasing?

The cost cutting program gained momentum over 1.5 years ago targeting $13.6B Euro.
It takes time for cost cutting targets to make their way into product planning milestones. In short - "they have arrived". https://europe.autonews.com/automake...profit-decline |

The 530e is hurt quite a lot between MY2020 and MY2021. A $3300 price jump and a lot of options being trimmed out and moved to more expensive standalone option pricing.
Glad I hoped onto the MY2020 when I ordered last year. I am a bit upset over RSU, but the MY2021 is a downgrade I feel. Though the extra boost HP is a nice tweak I'm sure. |
