Should I *condition* (yes, will use protection cream) leather when brand new?
When my M340i arrives and I pick it up as a brand new factory order car, I plan on using Leather Master matte protection cream on the cognac vernasca leather. I certainly wouldn't think it would make sense to use a leather _cleaner_ on the leather at first... but should I use a leather *conditioner* (i.e. Leather Master Vital) on it prior to using the protection cream/sealant?
Hmm...

I got this in Canada which should be available elsewhere. It's a ceramic coating for leather. I have light colour interior and this works amazing for me. Everything wipes off easily. They also have another product that you can buy for light cleaning. It's supposed to last for a year at a time. I have 6 months and absolutely no stains or marks. |

...but there is still the original question I asked of whether I should *condition* the leather prior to having the protection cream (or ceramic) put on. Any thoughts?

It is my understanding there is no need to condition the leather as it is brand new. The coating will seal in the natural oils in the leather.
I did a lot of research beforehand and that's what I came up with. I have the softer Merino leather. |
