Back in March I picked up a MY2021 G05 x40i in Arctic Grey and XLine trim. The only thing I regret about this decision is the black plastic on the edge of the fenders.
Last weekend I decided to perform a cleanse and wax. I started with a good wash and then moved to Xymol's HD Cleanse. I had never used this particular product before. It was real easy to use and worked really well. However, I was left with some discolouration on that black plastic trim. I am looking for any tips and tricks you all have used to remove leftovers like this from plastic. Please share what you have that works. |

Ive read that stuff dries fast and leaves a cement like residue. Maybe fill a spray bottle with distilled water and spray it, soak and take a clean cloth and see if it comes off.

The black ABS plastic that is on every modern day car is a pain to keep looking fresh.
If you forget to tape off the plastic before waxing/coating or just over time it fades... I can't really see the photo well enough to see what is going on - if it's a white residue or not, but I've used Meguiar's Hyper Dressing on the black ABS plastic to re-fresh those plastics - might want to give that a try. I have seen from Obsessed Garage, that Matt used Meguiar's M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner. Obsessed Garage - Meguiar's M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner |
