We were at the match in '18 when United won it all, which was really sweet, but obviously a lot of people probably don't know that happened or even care about MLS.

I was 11 when the Braves won it all in '95 and remember staying up late with my parents watching the playoffs and World Series. This one feels just as good if not a little better after going through what the Falcons and Dawgs put me through last decade.

I want him on the Yankees. He said he wants to stay but in most cases money talks. BTW, will Charlie Leibrandt get a ring?

So there are a bunch of Toronto Blue Jays fans bitching about the fact they didn't make it to the playoffs though they won 3 more games (91 wins) than the Braves and yet the Braves are now the world champions. They want MLB to change the way the playoffs work. Somebody call a whaaaambulance.

Seattle could say the same and at least they finished 2nd in their division. Yeah, the AL East was brutal this season, and the Jays faired pretty well against the top 3 teams in the division, but then again they also had the luxury of playing the Orioles 19 times. Not sure I've ever heard of a team bitching about this after finishing 4th in their own division, but with the way people are nowadays it's pretty unsurprising.

Braves came on strong after the acquisitions and were clearly better than a 88 win team down the stretch. We won our division, beat two 95 win division winners and the 106 win defending champs in the post season.

It's crazy to think that Acuna going down could have been the best thing for us this season. Can't wait til the next one with him back on the field.

Yep and just look how the NFL works when it comes to the playoffs. Lol. You could have a losing record yet win your division and go to the playoffs and quite possibly host a home game. I remember way back when the heavy underdog Seattle Seahawks had a losing record yet hosted the NO Saints in Seattle and shocked the world by beating them. Remember the infamous "Beast Quake"? I do and loved it!

So my buddy told me that multiple counties around Atlanta have called a school holiday for tomorrow (Friday) based on the "anticipation" many teachers will call in sick in order to attend the victory parade for the Braves. He was literally told this on Wednesday night by the local country school district. He has 3 kids.

WTF? That is pretty messed up.

A million people are expected for the parade. It's not just schools, many businesses are shutting down for their employees to attend as well.

Braves defeated a team the Yankees can only dream of beating. They deserve this title and I’m glad for them and the city. Now, someone start a 2022 MLB thread!

I don't think it's messed up, I think it's heroic.

People need some unity nowadays and for a city that desperately needed a championship, I for one am excited to see a city being happy about something and sharing a common interest. It's a breath of fresh air. Really wish I could be there (wearing one of my Braves shirts to live vicariously). If my kid was in school and the ability to go, she'd be pulling an absence card. This is a big moment! She can learn about some shapes a different day.

Yeah I hear ya. However, if you're not a fan or at least a big enough one to attend the victory parade and both parents work and have 3 school age kids, it's not cool for them. My bud had to take the day off in order to care of the kids at home. Don't always assume everyone is a fan.

He can suck it up for a day and share the joy with his fellow citizens. Don't have to be a fan to do that.
