Broken Headlight
Well...I wish I could take back a few seconds tonight. Bumped the garbage can in the garage which has a stupid sharp corner on it and broke the plastic on the front headlight. Anyone know if the entire unit needs to be replaced? I'm assuming so. Can't wait to see how much that will cost.

Bummer. Its scary how expensive these headlights are. A few year back I had a car with a removable sunroof. I took it out and accidentally dropped it. The sunroof shattered. I told the insurance company a tree limb fell on it and they paid for it. Thinking back I am surprised they approved it. If a limb fell and broke the sunroof, wouldn't there be additional damage to the metal on the roof too? Lol

I wish I would have read these responses before calling insurance. Being that it was on the side of the headlight, I didn't think it would be an easy sell to say a rock hit it or something. I didn't really think about it more than that and didn't want to go down a rabbit hole with them. So I basically just told them the truth. Probably could have saved a lot of money by just saying I came out to my car and saw the damage. Oh well. Can't go back and change my story now . I'll know better next time.

Edit: even if this isn't covered under comprehensive is should be covered under your collision policy, shouldn't it? |
