Imagine being overtaken by a car that goes 400+kph.

That looked absolutely insane. They should have included a video of the fuel indicator as well. Those who driven on the autobanh is it mainly smooth?

Yes the quality of the Autobahn puts every inch of US interstate highway to shame. Smoothness is one aspect of quality. Waviness is another, turn/sweep radius is another, etc etc etc

More generally, German road (build) quality far exceeds US road quality. Ghana and Myanmar have road quality similar to the US.

IIRC, at top speed, it will drain the fuel tank in 8 minutes.

Yep, they dig the road bed twice as deep as we do here in the states. But being more southern in the northern hemisphere, many of our roads are subjected to much larger temp variations.

Hell here in Oklahoma, for example, in the last 3-4 weeks, it's been 80F, snowed, then approached nearly 0, and is back up to nearly 70 today.

Yes roads in Germany are built differently.

The weather is blamed for poor roads in every state. And trucks. Weather and trucks.

Design and build the roads to match the driving experience in Germany which has 1/4 the population of the US. The US has the resources to do this. Right?

You have to keep in mind that the US is nearly 30 times as large as Germany.

It’s not even the road surface. It’s all this trash on the highways that makes it so dangerous; blown tires, abandoned cars, flying ladders and more. You will never see this on a German Autobahn. I have to take the I-95 every day and it’s a nightmare.
