Supercars Performance Vehicles New Vehicles Spied! This is the 2023 Corvette E-Ray hybrid without any camo The undisguised hybrid ‘Vette was spotted in Detroit emitting a "very different" sound Author of the article:Elliot Alder, Driving Publishing dateec 16, 2021 • 11 hours ago • 1 minute read • A spy photographer has spotted the upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray driving in metro Detroit. The anticipated hybrid Corvette will likely slot between the Z51 and Z06, reinforcing the line’s history of offering shoppers a variety of drivetrains to suit their needs. The C8 is a potent machine as it is, and the E-Ray will only carry the platform farther. The new model is expected to augment the Stingray’s existing 6.2L V8 with mild hybrid technology. More than simply reducing the C8’s already-thrifty fuel consumption, such a powertrain would augment low-end torque and smooth the power band, yielding a more direct and intuitive response underfoot. Visually, this E-Ray is almost indistinguishable from the Z06 with Z07 package. The point to note, however, is that the exhaust tips have moved from their centre position on the Z06 to outboard locations that likely clear space for heavier tech to stay in the middle. Our spy shooter, who followed this E-Ray for a few miles, notes that it sounded “very different” from the raspy Z06. |

With the amount of cool Corvettes soon to be available its gonna be quite a long time before GM can have their supply reach demand. Looking forward to this, after all, hybridization was one of the biggest reasons for the mid-engine placement.

That's a Z06. This was one of the test mules with the normal C8 exhaust setup. There was one with side exhausts at one point. Here's a link to the C8 forum with details.

If someone told you 10 years ago, there is gonna be Corvette hybrid, you would get him a straight jacket.
But these are some weird times, but hang on, the worst is on the way.
