I would imagine they go away. Those look similar in construction to the OEM trays sold by Mercedes for my wife's car. Probably even made by the same folks. They came all folded up and the worked their way out after a little bit of time.
FWIW, I'm pretty happy to the 3-series winter mats sold by BMW. They don't have the full side protection that those have, but they fit great.

I don't have photos handy but I have no issues with my set of TuxMat front and rear mats. Mine did sit out on the floor for several weeks as I got them ahead of when my car arrived but don't recall any creasing issues upon delivery either.
