PPF Carbon Fiber Roof
I'm planning on getting the front of my car PPF'd but was considering PPF'ing the roof. Has anyone done this/is it recommended? I figured given the fact it isn't painted and the higher cost of CF it could be worth protecting.

I'm also curious about PPF on the carbon roof.
Also, is this standard rood susceptible to hail damage? We get plenty of that in Colorado, and admittedly, last year was very light on hailstorms. |

I did. I'm kicking myself why I didn't do the whole car for an extra $2k.

Carbon is much more stiff and resistant against hail compared to normal steel / aluminum parts.
It needs to hail quite agressive to destroy a carbon roof, it won't bend, but get holes/cracks…and if that happens u will for sure have damaged glass / lights too, so ppf won't save u in that case. However in terms of PPF…u gonna regret for sure that u didn't ppf the whole car…so I would invest the plus of money to do the whole car, if already going trough the whole process. |

The front of the roof where it meets the windshield is still susceptible to rock chips especially on the freeways.
I would get at least a partial coverage on it. I've been told CF panel repairs aren't easy or cheap. |

What are the issues you are struggling with and can you not just go back and have the other panels done? May be a little more than $2k since not all same job, but shouldn't be too much more. I'm asking as I'm on the fence about doing my whole car (if it ever arrives stateside) vs just the typical impact areas.

In a couple of years I'll add some M Performance parts and re-wrap the car.

I had the full roof done in PPF. Definitely worth it for the peace of mind.

My entire car has PPF and ceramic coated. Big chunk of money but I do this to all of my nice cars. So far GT-R, M4CS and this new M4C. Highly recommended.
FYI I have a buddy with a carbon roof and a hickory nut fell on it and put a chip in it. No guarantee PPF would prevent something like that but I think it would. |

I had my guy add the A pillars and the roof. The pillars because they get hit as much as the rest of the front, and the roof to protect that gorgeous CF from bird shit and anything else that rests on it until I wash it.

With that being said, I had my entire car PPFd, well worth it, especially when Dravit isnt going to be able to get color matched, and blended easy. Its just easier to wrap everything.

Unfortunately I can feel both with my nail. I'll most likely take it to a reputable shop here in OC like SSR performance and have them do a touch up.

I ppfed the front bumper, all cf parts, rear diffuser, roof, mirrors and ceramic coated everything else including the wheels to cut down on brake dust.

Included the roof in my PPF package, along with every piece of gloss black trim on the car (those skirts and B/C pillars were going to become a mess quickly).
The very day I took delivery and pulled into my garage, could see nice swirl marks on the carbon roof from the dealer wash. PPF that stuff for the self healing alone. Like someone else said, I PPFd so much of the car, should have just paid to have the whole thing done. lol

What would happen to the carbon fiber roof if the PPF had to be replaced down the road? Would removal mess-up the lamination or something?

With the really good films, the glue comes off with the PPF, so you don't even have a lot of cleanup. PPF, these days has either a 10 or a 12 year warranty. That's worst case scenario. Thats 10-12 years, of worst, if you leave your car, sitting in the parking lot, in the sun, for 10 years. My car is parked in the garage, when I'm not driving it. The PPF, will last a long time on my car. Plus, there is ceramic coating over the PPF.
