After a wait of 8 months and 5 days from order to delivery, I finally picked up my 2022 M5C on Saturday, March 19th. Then came the most painful wait (seeing her every day but not being able to drive her!) as she sat in the garage for 10 days waiting for the paint protection appointment on 3/29. I picked her up last evening and the results are fantastic, although the pictures do not do it justice. I had xPel PPF applied to the front bumper and hood, and then IGL Kenso ceramic coating applied to the car, wheels and calipers. They even coated the plastic wheel well liners!

Included in the installation cost is a post-installation maintenance wash two weeks after pick-up where they check to make sure there are no issues with the PPF or ceramic coating, and touch up any issues if needed. They also do annual ceramic coating reload washes for the 4 year coating warranty period. Overall I could not be happier with my decision to use CarTech in Basking Ridge, NJ. The installer Jonny is meticulous and is a master at his craft. Feel free to PM me if your interested in using them and have questions or would like more details.

What did they do for the 4 crests on the edge of the front of the hood?

Congrats - may I ask how much you paid?

Honestly, I wonder if it would just be cheaper to not install PPF, and then when you are going to sell the car, fix all the rock chips and/or just repaint the bumper.

...I mean I didn't use PPF and just accepted that daily driving it will lead to scratches, dents and dings and I just budgeted to eventually fix all that IF (not when!) I ever sell my M5C. So I'm curious how much it cost...

The hood is one large piece of film. He removed the badge, and wrapped around all four sides.

Total cost was $3,150.

$1,600 for paint correction and ceramic coating the body
$350 to polish and ceramic coats the wheels, calipers and wheel wells
$1,200 for PPF on the bumper and hood

The ceramic coating cost was a little higher than other quotes I got (which were just for the initial install), but when you factor in the included follow-up maintenance visits I mentioned in my original post (5 total), I think it was a fair deal.

It's the first time I've bit the bullet and done PPF, but the bumper on my old 2019 M5C was so dimpled from the inevitable rocks/sand that blasts the front end it just never looked clean.

Did he wrap all the crests at the front or did he cut the film and leave them bare?

If they did a good job, which you have indicated, $3150 is a steal for everything they have included.

Thanks all! I'd love to get some pictures in direct sunlight before she gets dirty, but that's likely not in the cards. It's supposed to rain here tomorrow and I have an appointment to get catless secondary down pipes installed to give her a little more growl.

At least for me, it’s not about resale value. It’s about a reasonably minor upfront cost so as not to upset me when I look at a beat up front end each day. If I can keep it in good condition, then it’s an easy decision to pay for the protection.

1. Installed the AutoTecknic mini fender guards
2. Installed IND rear reflector replacements
3. Remove the automotive equivalent of an N95 mask from the airbox

Those are just the charcoal filters, so the air filters are still in there.

Thank you! As DryBark these are not the air filters, those are still in the car. These are only US cars to the best of my knowledge, necessary to be 50 state compliant because of CA regulations. They are meant to absorb any gas fumes that make leak back out of the engine when the car is not running. I'm no mechanic, but is that even possible with fuel injection?!?!? Maybe if we were still in the carburetor era it would at least make some sense.
