Exterior & Interior Protection - Dealer applied
We're looking at delivery of our new X5 with merino leather in the next few weeks and I'm wondering how many of you purchased the dealer option for exterior and interior protection on your new vehicle? I almost never purchase these treatments from dealers but in the last year had a very positive experience with Zurich Shield applied to our 2021 Miata with white interior.
I'm leaning toward taking our new X5 to a reputable detailer for a high quality ceramic coating and I'm sure they'll have something to protect the leather as well but does it need anything extra on it other than the way it comes from the factory? We have a 2013 X5 35i with over 110,000 miles on it - never done anything but wipe it with a damp cloth and it looks great. *shrug* |

I should have also mentioned that the treatment package sold by the dealer is Cal-Tex ResistAll NG2. I'm pretty sure it's a quick spray on treatment for the exterior and it comes with a 7 year warranty for a limited number of problems.

I save that money and use it on paint protection and 5 year ceramic coating at my detailers.
PPF entire front plus fenders, rockers, etc then ceramic coat the whole car. Will be in the $1500 - $2000 range. |
