Finally got my M4 back from having the front clip PPFed and the 1200 mile service done. I love that Isle of Man Green. Now...

Just being curious, for those who only ppfed front, did you do ceramic coating on top of it? If so, I assume it’s a full car coating?

No, I didn't. I had just a clear bra on my Sakhir Orange 2015 F82 that I traded in, and it still looked great after the 7 years and 8 months that I owned it.

I see. I'm just figuring out which one should be the priority...I don't care that much about 'shining' paint but I do care about the rock chips. So I will probably only do front ppf for ~$2k and I don't want to throw in another $1k+, trying to offset the price hike

If you want to work on a budget. Get just the high impact areas PPF'd. Ceramic makes washing so easy. I have almost of my cars ceramic and wrapped.

Hi

I had my car ceramic coated then bonnet and bumper PPF'd then a ceramic coat on the PPF.

Much easier to clean. PPF was the expensive part. Ceramic with new car prep was around £700. PPF £1500!

Also ceramic coat was heat cured.

PPF has micro dimples in it and a specific PPF coating will level these off so when alongside non PPFd panels it will perform more like paint with regard hydrophobic qualities.

In terms of protection, doesn’t really matter on PPF as pretty durable.

I use Car Pro Skin on the PPF and then top with Gtechniq Exo as with the rest of the panels.

hmmm....it's not typical to coat the paint BEFORE PPF due to adhesion issues with the PPF on the paint.
