Looking for fuel efficient/hybrid SUV for 5+ people.
Is there such car? Maybe in the future? I know Lexus makes hybrid RX, but it is only 5 seater. Anyone know if they will make hybrid LX?

True, if you're doing mostly long highway driving. If you drive city most of the time though it makes complete sense.
And this is coming from a guy that isn't a fan of hybrids at all. I have to admit it has it's place.....in the city. |

What about the new diesel SUV's coming out?
Mercedes GL, Audi A7, BMW X5. All of them carry more than 5 people, some better than others. Chevy Suburban is probably the biggest of them all, with a hybrid power train. You should also seriously look at the GMC Acadia/ Saturn Outlook. The MPG is very similar to the diesels listed above, but at a MUCH lower cost. It also has a very usable 3rd row seat. I'm 6'1" (slim) and fit in the 3rd row without a problem. Plus I think you only need to run regular gas in this car so your fuel cost will be about $1 cheaper than diesel. The only issue with a hybrid, if you're interested in the environmental issue, is the emissions from the production of the batterys. The raw material is mined in Canada and then shipped to Europe for processing and then sent to Japan for final assembly (I'm talking the Japanese hybrids of course). It's debatable if the hybrid actually is cleaner than a standard car when you factor in all the pollution that went into the production of the batteries.

What does diesel cars do? Cheaper gas or what? What I really want is a SUV that can take lots of people, things, and tow things when we go on a trip; and can be a everyday car without it getting like 12 mpg, and I want something luxury. xD Merc, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Infiniti, or something like that.
