Got an IS350 :)
Well as usual, my impulsiveness got the best of me but in a good way . While at breakfast thismorning I asked my wife what she thought of trading her G37 in on a 4 door car since we're having a kid in a couple of months. She actually thought it might be a good idea. We went to look at g35 sedans and long story short...I now have a fully loaded, low mileage 06 IS350 Blue on Black/Tan. I didn't realize how nice they were plus .10 faster in the 1/4 mile than the g37S 6MT with a 25hp deffecit! Next project car for me! Yeah auto suck but at least it's got paddle shifters. Just wanted to share my excitement. Best part, even being a few grand upside down on trade we now owe less $$ that can go towards baby stuff

The is350 is a more practical car than the 335i, has more features (love the a/c seats) but the drive was egh. Doesnt it feel like the suspesion is too stiff on the car? More stiff than the 335i with ZSP in my opinion. However, great choice compared to all other cars on the market. Like I said, I narrowed down my decision to the 335 and 350. PS. The paddle shifters suck on that car...it does not force an up-shift, you have to lift before it shifts unless its redline shifting. The 335 will shift when you tell it to (as you know better than me since i dont have my 335 yet). Anyway, enjoy, you have 2 of my favorite cars! edit, you have the 330i |

They weren't willing to produce the numbers I wanted so I went and got a Hummer H3 instead like a month ago.

my buddy has one, it's a nice car, just kinda plain. the rear space is very small, although i think E90's back is small too :/
drove it once, not impressed.. just very plain (although nicely apointed interior) and the suspension isnt comfortable at all. it's got alotta nice features though and i think it's the perfect chick car. just not for me |

Here are the pics the dealer had up on it's site. My camera broke months ago and I've been to lazy to go get it fixed. As for the suspension, It feels really smooth compared to my BMW or the Infiniti and I guess it goes without saying, my Hummer. I preffer stiffer suspension. That was my biggest pet peave with the G37, even with the "Sport" package, it was too sloppy. And it's not like I abandoned my BMW I just got something that can whoop it's ass and carry a baby seat comfortably. As far as back seat size goes, I'm 5'8 and my wife is 4'11-5' so we sit up pretty close lol.

not sure whats going on, but the IS350 has very sloppy suspension. g37 sport is by far the stiffest i have tested out of 335i ZSP, IS350, IS350 w/ coilovers, G37S 6MT. in fact, on the track i felt the G37 had the least body roll out of all of them. IS350 just doesnt compare, one of the reasons I got out of mine. good luck with the 06, theres so much pain waiting to be revealed.

It's got all the options so it's a Mark Levinson (SP?) stereo so I guess it's supposed to be good. I haven't really paid much attention. The seats are real light tan - and my favorite part of the whole car since they're air conditioned. Feels good on your ass when it's 110+ outside

It's more blue then it looks in the pics and the pictures don't do the car any justice. When I go to get my BMW back from the paint shop I'll get my body guy to take some good pics of them together so I can post 'em.

you won't regret it I had an 06' IS350 and it was a great, great car. It did so well on long trips (comfort wise) in the end it just didn't give me that great car-driver relationship that my bmw does. But great car!

Thanks! I will start a thread about it when my car comes in. As of right now, I really feel the downgrade in power. My GTO is 6spd too, so its a pretty big change. I like the exhaust a lot better in the GTO (even stock) and there are days that I drive with the radio off just to enjoy the sound of the car. Other than that, the 335i is a lot more luxurious, practical, comfy, (a lot smaller in the back too lol) and just what I wanted to go into after the loud gto with the heavy ass clutch (not a daily driver). PS. Sorry but the gto gets a lot more compliments and looks. It breaks necks around the "hot spots" in town and gets compliments/questions when I am stopped at a light. lol |
