Update? Since I have a dealer/ manufacturer point of view I am curious to how this turned out. I thought this was an uphill battle from the beginning but if a strong relationship with the dealer existed, maybe a solution could be reached.

They'll definitely deny warranty, that's considered outside influence by BMW TBH and another insider point of view. I agree that it sucks, but hopefully the dealer themselves will take care of you! Not trying to be negative, but like Higgy_CSL reported, they would not warranty this through a normal channel.

I just can’t see this happening with a factory BMW finish. Likely the car incurred damage enroute from Germany and repaired at the dealer or port? I’ve seen a couple stories reported of bodywork being completed on certain cars and the dealer not required to report it.
I agree ☝️. I believe the car was repaired at the dealer or port.

I always learn something new on here, but also start to worry about crap I had never worried about! I'm doing a full PPF and was going to remind the shop to remove factory PPF off the rear fenders and that's it. Now I'm wondering if he'll be insulted if I say "and I assume you'll heat this up before removing it, right?"

Lol if it’s a reputable shop you have no need to say anything lol

Yeah well these guys are actually owned by XPEL and the last two times I was there they had a new Ferrari and a new McLaren. And they have great reviews, so should be fine haha.
