M5 Comfort Level

I'm coming out as a partial target group for the new M5. I really like the look of it and the 0.5% tax here in Germany is also appealing. Whether 500kg more or less, half a second faster or slower, I don't really care, but I can understand that this is a no-go for others. I'm more of a relaxed rider, but I like to flex my muscles from time to time and I like to know that "I could if I wanted to".

I'm asking myself a specific question and perhaps one or two experts here can give an assessment. Is the new M5 "relaxed" or is it comfortable to drive? What are the typical characteristics of an M5 and can you roughly estimate what the new one will be like compared to a current 7 Series?

I'm currently driving an M760e and I've never driven a more comfortable car. No matter how bad the road, it drives like a king in wind and weather and you hardly feel any bumps. Especially with the comfort seats, you just feel like you're in heaven. Until recently, I drove an X3 M40i at the same time and it was the exact opposite. Every bump in the road was noticeable and it was far too "hard" for my taste - I had a direct comparison with the 7 Series and, as described at the beginning, I usually prefer to drive comfortably rather than sportily. Does the M5 then fall out or can it also be comfortable, perhaps a little like the 7 Series? What can you expect from the seats compared to the superb comfort seats in the 7 Series? Suspension comfort?

I have to hand in the 7 Series soon and I've decided against getting another one because it's just really too long for me and even after a year I still can't get used to the front end. I fell in love with the M5 straight away.

Thank you in advance!

In a word. Yes.

In two words. Adaptive Suspension.

The G90 M5 will still have to dual personality that defines what and M5 is. It will still be comfortable and have the refinement of a 7-Series level type of driving experience when you are just going to the grocery store or whatever. But at the touch of a button, the G90 M5 will still become a Beast and offer a different driving experience.

The only M5 to not really follow this formula was the Pre-LCI F90 M5 Competition, where the Competition Package was just too uncompromising when it came to things like suspension, damping, and ride quality. That car drove more like an M3. But then the fixed the Comp Package when the LCI F90 M5 came out and it was much better.

So have no worries. Enjoy your future G90.
