Piano black or something that looks an awful lot like it everywhere and I'll be curious to see how much that dashboard-as-a-screen reflects and is visible in, you know, daylight.

The current crop of BMW's with the large single screen do an amazing job with reflections even when very sunny. I was concerned about that before getting my G80, but I never notice any reflections. I'd assume Audi would have used similar efforts to not have a washed out sun filled screen.

...do people not wear polarized sunglasses constantly during the day elsewhere? I literally don't leave the house without at least one set. I have spares in my car. Not wearing sunglasses in FL is like staring directly into the sun, it isn't something you do. All that trim and glossy stuff is no big deal with polarized glasses on (just a fingerprint graveyard)

Piano black everywhere
More fake plastic vents EVERYWHERE
Giant screens that fill the whole dashboard for whatever reason
Everything integrated into touch screens

Yeah great design

I liked it until I saw the ipad for a dash. That's an absolute no go for me.

And people can compare the styling to Kia as much as they want. Kia just happens to make some pretty nice looking vehicles. Perhaps some should check and see who hired most of BMW's good designers.

Sounds like the reporting was correct, it was the information provided by Audi that was incorrect.

Yeah I’ve owned my G81 for over a year, and not once has glare or reflections been an issue.

I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either. Current A5 Sportback has better lines and more chiseled.

All the current trends of a massive rectangle screen is gonna look so tired and old in a few years time. My parents have a 23 Q5 and though it is solidly built and have some good tactile feel with buttons and overall material choice, I think BMW has slightly better overall build quality.

That said I don’t love the new X3 interior either so they’re really all going downhill IMO for the sake of technological edginess.

Horsepower isn't everything, but if I switched to an S5, I would like for it to have more horsepower than my M240. Also hoping the passenger screen is optional

Yeah- sweet mercy. What a reach as there is so much more detail in the Audi design v. the Kia design.

One looks like a Kia and the other one looks like a 2010 Audi. Seriously even Audi fans are tired of the styling that hasn't really changes in over a decade. It's why Audi sales are tanking as existing owners are finding a hard time finding reasons to upgrade to the same looking vehicles as the ones they have been driving for 5 years.

Something to be said for evolution over revolution.

I think it looks pretty good for the most part, though not keen on the Alfa Giulia-esque bonnet line.

How are Audi sales tanking? Up the first half of 2024 compared to one of their most profitable years in 2023.

What are you basing this on? Audi USA 2024 sales were down 16% in Q1 and down 12% in Q2. Worldwide they are down 8% while BMW is the only luxury automaker to have increased sales and significant EV increases.

Lots of screens, plastic and piano black to make sure all of your fingerprints are everywhere. Steering wheel looks like trash compared to previous gen. Still no full leather dash option?

I had an S4 and thought it was a great car but this ain’t my cup of tea. Interior screen setup looks like a Hyundai or Kia just slapped on top of the dashboard and not integrated into the design. BMW and Mercedes same thing.
