M5 Touring - Buy Now or Wait?

As the title suggests, I'm wondering if it makes sense to try and get on the list to buy an M5 Touring immediately or just wait till Spring.

Biggest reasons to wait for Spring would be if BMW adds more interior choices and full leather options, and if there's any last tidbits of tech that they add to the next year model.

I have the LCI X7 M60i now that I got the moment it came out, and while it has a ton of things I like (such as full Individual leather), it also didn't get the Highway assistant that the 2024 version got a few months later, nor did it get some of the tech the prior X7 had like rear comfort access sensors and some metal switchgear vs plastic.

Maybe there's some better deals then too once the newness wears off.

I'm leaning towards just holding out, but I was wondering what other folks are planning?

An even bigger reason to wait is to see how they fare reliability-wise. If you look at the new AMG C63S Hybrid and the first year owners, it is a complete disaster. A ton of total lemons that are broken down already.

Do what i did. Put a deposit down now so you are atleast in line to get one at your local dealer. Chances are it will be months before it gets to you anyway.

the main reason to wait is the price
I test drove the car and I do believe it will sell well but I will need a significant discount to buy this thing and dealers now are on sugar high probably asking MSRP or even ADM on some of these cars

People who get the first allocations in the US probably aren't going to get theirs before April/May anyway, so 'buying' one now means getting it in the springtime.

Never buy a first year of a new model. 2nd year is safer, since they have a chance to fix the bugs. Let someone else pay to be a beta tester.

Funny you mention that because I also bought a 2022 Merc SL63, the first year of the redesign and it has had a myriad of issues.

I've thought about potentially "leveling up" to something like an Urus or DBX707, but I just don't really see them being 100k-150k better than something like my current X7 or the M5T.

Urus = Audi RSQ8 with nicer looking bumpers.

That would be the XM owners lol

I seriously think that was a beta test bed for the M5 drivetrain

Yeah it was absolutely a proof-of-concept... just like the IX probably is.
