Nice that you're enjoying that comfortable fall weather on your patio there in Arizona. Same here for me. Very comfortable these days. My favorite time of the year.

My sister in law likes to "update" all the recipes/menu items for Thanksgiving so in advance of going there tomorrow for her "innovative" takes on everything, we are having the traditional menu tonight. Pumpkin pies are now on the racks cooling, stuffed bird is in the oven and up to about 125 internal, so we're getting there...
Now to pick a wine - I usually go with Clos de la Roilette's Fleurie, but my oldest two and their husbands (the four main wine drinkers other than me) aren't home this year, and the ones who are home would prefer a rosé or an off-dry riesling, so I will pick one or the other of those. I already know what I *won't* be having for dinner tomorrow night, and that's turkey because of the vegetarians and Thanksgiving anything because of a native American who despises the holiday because of what the colonists did to his people.....

Having Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow with my brother.. He could not make today, so just me and the better 1/2 tonight. Filet with mixed veggies. And the butcher had a Chicken cordon blu type of pot pie... Really good...

After an early "Thanksgiving" dinner with the vegetarian-in-laws, I'm munching on some frozen chicken nuggets that I just nuked.
Will someone please enlighten me about whether it was the pilgrims or indians who brought the macaroni and cheese to the first Thanksgiving? It must be a millennial thing, but every Thanksgiving restaurant spread includes what our Canadian friends north of the border call Kraft Dinner (KD) these days.....

Turkey with all the trimmings! Ya'll know what it looks like!
Chocolate flan (see Baking thread) and two bites of apple pie for dessert! Another great Thanksgiving in the books. |
