How will Possible future tariffs affect pricing?

What are your thoughts on how possible upcoming US import tariffs will affect pricing?

Will BMW adjust pricing to offset some of those tariffs?

Don't think it would very much. They will be targeted to certain industries and certain places. I don't belive German goods are and even at that the bulk of bmw sales (suvs) are all made in the US.

Trump Day 1 tarrifs
There have been no indications from the president elect that there will be a tariff on European cars. The tariffs proposed appear to be with Canada, China, and Mexico.

European automakers have a lot of factories in rural parts of the Southeastern United States. This is the part of the country that largely supports president Trump. I view it as highly unlikely that he would imposes tariffs on the European automakers as retaliatory tariffs would likely follow, significantly impacting US factories.

It will affect pricing. Pricing will rise, no one will know how much until it happens or when it could take place. Mexico and Canada will see tariffs for numerous reasons as well. So any car manufacturer with plants there may have to raise pricing accordingly.

This. Whether the cars are built there or not.

The tariffs are proposed to dissuade American car companies from closing USA plants and moving them to Mexico, or to dissuade China from dumping super-cheap EVs over here.

I don't think Germany is on the target list, as of yet. As mentioned, there are many German companies with USA plants already. But there is a likely scenario that tariffs might be used if European countries are not paying their expected contributions to NATO. France has previously been threatened with tariffs on wine unless they pony up the NATO funding. I suppose Germany could be targeted for the same reason if they are not meeting their obligations.

My take is it's anyone's guess with all the tariff threats being thrown out. Here is what I do know. If you are on the fence I'd buy now, because there is only one direction they will go. If it happens the gas guzzler tax will look like peanuts

The president-elect has stated that there will be a blanket 10% on all imports irrespective of origin and additional tariffs on specific nations. Nevertheless, it's not like southeastern manufacturers are only importing items from Germany. They're also consuming items being imported from others who, in turn, import from places like Mexico or wherever the tariffs may target.

It's a domino effect, and you will see an across-the-board increase in all costs, BMW's or otherwise, if it goes through - which is highly likely. So get your cars now
