My dealer called me and said they got one allocation and its for April build. Seems so late considering G99's production should be starting soon

If you car is a March car, check whether the leather dash can be ordered. I read it was coming in March.

I really do hope they offer full leather in this car in March. While the interior is fine when i checked it out in person I do noticed there are small detail touches that looks/feels cheap compared to my full leather X5M. When you are spending near 140K it should come all the bells and whistles making it feel extra premium.

Just talked to my local dealer (NW burbs of Chicago). He told me they have 5 orders with 1 allocation received and no information on when next is coming. To get in line they are looking for 5K deposit and told me likely I'm looking at 2026 to get the car! Do you guys think he is being overly pessimistic here?

Just to "get in line" they're asking for $5k???? I'd give a healthy, hearty laugh and walk.
To be clear, I have no information on allocations for the Touring (waiting to hear back from my SA on this) so my opinion may very well be null and void. However, my SA put me in the system and in line for a G90 and certainly didn't ask for a dime to do so. He also told me that there's only a couple of people ahead of me and that i'm just looking at a few months, tops. I have a hard time believing that the G99 is going to be that much more in demand. But hey, I could be totally wrong.

Depends on where you are. Here in NC, about six weeks ago, I was told wait lists for G99 allocations ran from 1 deep to 14 deep. So some dealers could deliver one in spring/early summer, while 14-deep would easily stretch into late 2025 or early 2026.
SIx weeks ago, most dealers wanted 1k or 2k deposit to get on the list, which I think is reasonable. One dealer in SC wanted 20% down, which was the best joke I had heard in a long time. |

But that would mean BMW is planning to produce only few hundred G99s in 2025? Their Dingolfing factory is producing some 280K cars a year and only few hundred G99's will be made? If true, it would be a sad story for many of us....

When I ordered my F90 build, the dealer took a $1000 deposit.
My Audi R8 order was a $5000 deposit. |

Well, there's placing an order and getting on a list. Deposits absolutely for when you place the order, but $5k just to get on a list? That's what I was responding to Timecurve about. Shouldn't cost a cent to get on a list.

From info on this board, it seems like roughly 400 allocations went out for the Tourin for production through April. So maybe 1200 per year?

The R8 order was a different situation. I placed the order in Nov 2021, trying to get a 2022 model year car but had no allocation. Shortly after the order, the 2022 model year was cancelled by Audi due to the parts shortages at the time. I told the dealer to keep my deposit and submit my order for a 2023 model, if Audi decided to do a 2023. It took 2 years to get my R8 but I did get my allocation for a 2023 that was delivered in Aug 2023. |

$500 deposit for me. Waiting for an allocation and to see whether there are more individual interior options after March.

1K refundable deposit to get in line. 4K additional deposit (non refundable) once I have a build allocation to my name. 5K total
This is for the Touring at MSRP at my local dealer. Right now I have a week 18 build slot so chances are this car won’t be here until summer. Bmw is either limiting G99 production or the US dealers must got build allocations after other countries. I wonder how much time before my build week do I have to tweak options Alan

Got offered a wagon allocation (msrp) from a Georgias dealer yesterday with a March 20 build date.
Now to decide if I want it …

I had an April allocation at MSRP at my local dealer (tenafly bmw) but at the end they decided to play games and wanted me to sign paying adjusted interest rate / MF. Their reason is because they are selling at MSRP so they have to mark up the rate. I kindly told them thanks for wasting my time and give me my deposit back.
I was clear to them I am only willing to pay MSRP without ADM so they know exactly what I meant but decided to try to pull a fast one. I suggest others to get your terms in writing for the price and clearly stating there isn’t any rate mark up or mandatory dealer option. This is why I hate dealing with sales people. Alan
