I live in Michigan and we get some snow during winter not so much that I need a dedicated snow tyre so for my wife's Kia Sportage about 18 months ago I installed the Bridgestone WeatherPeak and we have loved it since then, we have driven it in all kinds of weather including snow during a few storms and they behave way better than the crappy oem tyres did. These are similar concept as the Michelin CC2 but I decided to go with the Bridgestones just because of the nice discount cotsco was offering back then and also because I have ridden in a friends cx5 with cc2 and find them really loud.

Now it's properly cold and a touch of snow on the road I thought I'd update on the Cross CLimate's. Not quite too sure how to say this but, they almost feel better than they do in summer. I mean I am sure there's more grip in summer but that mushy feeling under braking is gone, so clearly this tyre is RIGHT on the edge for summer use and is geared more towards a ploughed road situation. So far so good anyways given the furtherest i go is about 10 miles from here and even that is once per week.

well towns south of Buffalo got a bit of snow over TG wknd … glad I had snows Bstones WS90 were tested properly

That's exactly how the Michelin Alpin PA4s felt on my M235 when I ran them for 4 winters. Those directional Cross Climate 2 will get loud as F as they wear. I've never had a directional tire with that type of pattern that did not get real loud and usually they'll also start to cup a bit on the inner tread as well, even with perfect toe. They kinda wear like a all terrain tire when it comes to NVH and cupping.

I like the PA4 all seasons more than snows on my AWD F90 M5 but AWD starts off better in snow than RWD. I have snow wheels, all season wheels and summer wheels but ran the snows only 1 year. For my RWD cars, I run snow wheels.

I suspect youre right but I do barely 3K miles a yr so they will age out before they wear out.

O usually go with continental, ultra or premium contact. Low road noise and good confort, first time i used them seemed like i had new suspension. Also i buy them with a huge discount, have a friend who works at continental and he gives me the employees discount..

Just put a set of Conti DWS-06 Plus on my wife's E90 xDrive, replacing the run-flats. This now gives me five (5) BMWs sitting on DWS-06 tires. That's never happened before. In the past if I was happy with a tire when it came time to replace them, that tire no longer existed. Thanks you Conti for keeping this one updated and in production in the sizes I need. Ordering on-line through Tire-Rack's new owner Discount Tire for local delivery and installation at their store about 30-miles away was easy and could have been next-day but I opted for two-days after the order. Continental had a $100 rebate so my total cost for mounting and balancing 4 225 /40 R18 Conti's was just under $700. I was out of the store in less than a half-hour and could not have been more pleased with the service and professionalism.
