May I ask a question about your divorce? I wonder this fairly often. How long would you say the marriage was in decline before y’all decided to divorce? I guess it’s kind of morbid, but I’ve always wondered how long it takes before folks decide the love can’t be recovered and it’s better to split up.

Condolences on your second wife’s passing. I’m glad to see you got another chance at love after that!!

My first marriage started going south at about the four year point, so it was in trouble for a long time before I pulled the plug.

You know that feeling when you get a solid eight hours of restful sleep and get up ready for anything?

Yeah, me neither.

I do know the feeling of getting a solid eight hours of restful sleep, but not the getting up part. I feel like crap in the morning and I have ever since I was a kid. It takes until about 10:00 AM before I start to feel okay.

This coffee mug is made for me, because caffeine definitely makes a difference for me.

These days, I'd settle for THREE hours of uninterrupted sleep! Besides the diuretics run to the driver's lounge every hour, my DW has been working third shift so my sleep schedule is also messed up.....

I sleep good but don't think, make that remember having 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. More like 6 or 7 hours, with usually 1 trip to the bathroom.

I've been having trouble falling back to sleep after a visit to the "driver's lounge." Sleep tracking on my Apple Watch said I was awake for an hour after a visit a few nights ago. I remember I had trouble dozing off again, but I didn't think it was an hour.

So true. I've been reading the responses to this post and they are hilarious.

We may not be able to open all this newfangled packaging, but old people can drive stick shift. Manual transmissions are the ultimate childproof packaging!

.....you know you're still young when you can still go out skiing and keep up with your grand kids on the slopes.

Here's 3 generations skiing together. It would be fun to make it 4 generations, but I'd have to be skiing at 90 or so to make that happen...not likely!

Epic day at Lake Tahoe.

Had a co-worker who stored old engine oil under his single-wide mobile home,
using those oil cans. One day, during heavy rains, his mobile home park
flooded. After the water receded it became clear that every home in the
park had a high water mark on the skirts. Oil.

I don’t remember how many hours he spent cleaning the oil off those skirts,
but let’s just say his weekends were tied up for a while. 🤣

I saw the Sierras are due for major snowfall this week. Like 10' or more. Zoiks.

Back in the late 90's I was working for an environmental engineering firm. We had a remediation project that was a Jiffy Lube franchise that had gone under and had been abandoned. They never emptied their waste oil drum and the power was cut off. After some torrential rain, the whole building got flooded and because there was no power, the sump pumps did not run. The waste oil that had been in that drum floated out and covered everything in that building. Luckily I was not assigned to that clean up job.
