yeah BMW needs to get their shit together with this stuff if they want to keep pushing for most sales to be made to order vs off the lot. Would it kill them to take a picture of one of the seats in the factory under a couple different lighting and throw it in the builder as a clickable pop up or something? ain't rocket science just takes a tiny bit of effort

Agreed. I just can’t reconcile the 3 different colors between the swatch, builder, and these new pictures (would certainly be helpful to know a bit more.. source etc).

And of course, I confirmed my request with my SA to update from KO to Dark violet / black this AM before seeing these pictures . Oh well lol.

It will look different with black versus the grey, and the is much less of it in the M5. Looks good in the configurator.

This is way worse than I expected it to look. I was considering waiting and giving up my allocation delivering in 2 weeks to get the dark violet but definitely not anymore KO is way more intriguing and fitting with frozen dark gray. Happy with that. I just dont think its purple enough and is too dark

how much of that is real vs picture distortion... the shoulder bolster area mimics the pattern that's on the G99 builder but then there's all that across the middle of the back rest and even headrest...

wish we had good pictures, also wondering why they would go to the trouble of that new perforation pattern for only 2 colors that don't cost extra

That is the representative photo sent to me by BMW NA last year. You can even see some annotations that were cropped from the photo. I expect it originated as a photo prepared for inside distribution from which various annotations were removed.

Its likely what you are referring to is simply a moire pattern produced by the many leather ventilation perforations in a relatively small photo. You can see this all the time on TV broadcasts in various fabrics (ties for example) but its much easier to diagnose in a moving image.

That pattern is money though. It looks much better. My 2 gripes about the interiors were thst I didn't like the color split the way they did it on the seats, and the seats don't have any design features at all. M8 with cross hatched is the gold standard as far as I'm concerned. I actually really like the other blue/taupe color way more than expected.
