A5, 2.0T, DSG, quattro, s-line... will it exist?

For all of you guys that follow the 4 rings... will this combo be available? A5 with the 2.0T turbo four, DSG tranny, quattro and the s-line package. If so, it'll likely supersede my 335i.

I googled some of the keywords and there seems to be an ethanol 2.0T fronttrak. Who on earth would want that?

I frequent audiworld.com often since I plan on purchasing an A5 s-line as my next car.

from what I understand...an A5 2.0T will no come to the U.S. because Audi wants the A5 to be more prestigous then the A4 by only offering the 3.2 V6 in the A5 and nothing else. However with the way gas pricing have been that could always change.

Will most likely come in 2010 from my latest estimations.

Here's for hoping then. I'd take the turbo 4 over the V6 all day long.

I heard they were bringing it but the base 2.0T would come with FWD with AWD as an option. Even a 2.0T with FWD would be a nice car for someone like my in SoCal, where the weather is always nice and most driving is in traffic. You'd still have a slick ride to sit in during traffic and you could save on some gas. Not a bad deal at all imo. It will be a bad deal if Audi prices it too high though.

A5 with the 2.0TFSI is already announced for the Europe/Asia markets, probably going to be a FWD like the 3.2 one.

But if I have to choose, I'd go with the 2.0T and opt for the S-line. Better looks and tons of potentials with the turbo, 300hp is very feasible.

In europe, we gen get;
2.0 TFSI 180 hp manuel- auto FWD
2.0 TFSI 211 hp manuel - auto FWD + manuel Quattro

and auto = multitronic not S tronic

I do not think that you can get any of these in USA in the future

What is the difference between multitronic and tiptronic or S-tronic?

long subject but shortly;

Tiptronic is conventional automatic, has discrete gears, has a wide range of use, ordinary automatic gearbox..

Multitronic (Constantly Variable Transmission) does not have discrete gears, it is really smooth, comfortable but it can not be used with quattro... So for FWD cars, multitronic is very good choice for its comfort, and it has a max torque transmission of 400 Nm...

Stronic is DSG, very fast, sporty... is the best but it is expensive and has torque limitations, audi extended the limit to 550 Nm, so new S/RS models can use this gearbox...

Weren't they not using multitronic (CVT) on quattro cars, only frontrak? Has that changed?

You'd be OK with the 2.0T after the 335i?

The 2.0T is easily tunable to the 335's stock power levels. Which in reality, is more than enough power for me. Then you get decent power with a gorgeous interior and exterior outer shell.

I might be blowing smoke... I likely won't do anything if I'm not plagued with the lag issues that are so well publicized on these boards. But if that day does come, and it feels like it inevitably will, I'll gladly give up a turbo-lagging, waste-gate clanking, over-heating car for a well dressed and well put together car with a very seasoned 4 pot turbo.
