By Dec? You can get a 2008 M3 right now for high $40k's, so i'd say mid to low by the end of this year. Those cars have dropped unbelievably in value.

You can get used E92 335i's for 28k, so high 40k M3 isn't that far out.

Yes sir. If you look on Ebay or one of the common car selling sites, they're there. Even if they're in the low $50k's, people will go lower. Because of economy and other reasons, people are trying hard to get rid of these.

Yeah I've been keeping up with the prices on Ebay and other Auction places, luxury car prices are plummeting. I've even seen 997's going for low 40's decently optioned, and sub-30k miles.

Haven't been looking at Porsches much, but from what i've read on the M3 forum, dealerships are desperate to give these cars away. I'm sure as you've said, luxury car prices have been dropping like rocks.

The Cayman/Boxter aren't 997s. They are based on the 987 platform.

When I say 997, I'm talking about the current-gen Carrera, the base coupe. The 997 Turbos are selling for fairly low prices (I've seen them in the 80k-90k range private sell).

You're probably better off hunting down a 996 Turbo which can be had for considerably lower.

Eh, the only thing that really throws off the look of the 996 to me is the headlights. They remind me of runny sunny-side up eggs.

The general rule..the higher they are, the harder they fall. I wonder how many of the M3's are lemons though.
