+1...also goes for software, movies (except expanding the blu-ray collection), etc. basically anything that can be downloaded.

And the argument that artists get a large portion of their money from concerts is incorrect. The vast majority comes from selling music, and the money they do get from giving concerts materializes in goods bought at the concert.

It is sad to see how many people lose all sense of right and wrong when the consequences are taken away.
give me a break. it's music. everyone downloads it. i'm not going to pay $10,000+ out of moral.

i've never stolen anything in my life besides music, and photoshop, i guess.

You would never do anything, ANYTHING, that might be immoral...to help you financially? Never? Especially when you basically can't be caught, and when it's something small that won't hurt anyone...? And, sorry, but it's not like I'm killing them. Not literally, or financially.

If not, go you, you're special. For real...good for you. If I payed $1 for all my songs on iTunes, I'd be down $5000 already. Sorry, but nah.

I pay. I have a subscription to Rhapsody and XM. I also buy the occasional album if I think it is worth having in an uncompressed format. I already have a lot of my favorite music on CD, so I am not all that inclined to buy new CDs.

I buy. In fact I just bought the new AIC album on Tuesday.

I only buy true cds, I don't d/l from itunes or any of the like. I like a physical cd.

+1. When the number of songs are in the thousands, they do add up quickly.

i don't buy cd for the last 6 years. but i don't listen to music much anyway. most of the time i just tune to radio when i'm in my car or turn everything off and listen to this inline 6 screaming to the 8k redline. to me that is music.

Seriously.. so because we leased an entry level bmw we have to pay thousands of dollars a year to listen to music??

4shared, mp3raid, zippyshare, rapidlibrary, filestube, .com ..FTMFW!!

Its ok tho, we need people to buy music, or else whos going to post them on those websites?
